It hasn't been my favourite novel from this author so far, but it was entertaining enough. However, it felt too long, and there were moments throughout the middle sections that I was wishing for this to get to the end.

The novel begins directly enough - a bit of a disastrous family reunion around the table, and then the reader is thrown to the kicking -off: George, the success of the family, a high-flying TV station executive who loves to look down on everybody else, has been involved in a drunk-and-drive accident. George calls family, and it's the older brother Harry who has to help him out. The matter is serious, as there are several victims, one of them a young child.

All these characters from the same family sometimes got to my nerves. None of them seems really likeable to me, if they were real people. Harry is the one I sympathised the most, in spite of all his flaws.
