This came in a bundle of graphic novels. It collects The God of Thunder #1-5.

The early adventures of Marvel's god of thunder receive a new interpretation, courtesy of writer Matthew Sturges and artist Pepe Larraz, in Thor: Season One. Obviously created as marketing opportunity surrounding the impending release of Thor: The Dark World, the duo successfully merges the disparate movie and comic book visions into an interesting and entertaining composite that recounts Thor's earliest days on Earth. Sturges's well-crafted story, punctuated with lighter, comedic moments, recalls the finer moments from the legendary Walt Simonson run of the 1980s. While the excellent Larraz's art looks nothing like Jack Kirby's work, several of his images appear to pay homage to the character's co-creator's influential work.

Thor had always been a hit or miss comic for me. Over the years I have enjoyed some adventures and not others. But I have always been fond of the character of Loki. Over the years, I have come to love the movie versions of Thor and Loki even more .

This was a good book. Thor falls for one of Loki's tricks and Odin banishes him to Midgard. He lives the life of Donald Blake, a neurosurgeon in New York city with his identity as Thor asleep and hidden until events cause him to find mjolnir which is also disguised.. holding the hammer causes Thor's identity to awaken and just in the nick of time as Loki tries to destroy the Asgardians through treachery.

I actually enjoyed the Thor story included at the end of this a little bit more as it was a solo adventure. But was also sadly the first in amother start arc.
