OK. I knew before starting to read it that it was not going to be my cup of tea. But I had seen the monument to the dog, and I have liked some fo the novels by Louisa May Alcott, so I was prepared to read a sentimental kind of story. And I loved the cover. And I tend to like the Penguin edition. I was not disappointed in all these points.
The problem for me is the constant use of the colloquial dialect. Almost all the dialogue is written like that, and for me it was incredibly difficult. So I skipped almost all of it.
I hope that somebody more appropriate reads this book.
