It tells the story of a murdered female dancer and Detective Carella & Co. who are seeking to bring the perpetrator to justice.
My husband has read and enjoyed the book.

When re-releasing this book please be aware that airports are not a good place to leave books unless they have a specific book exchange shelf or area, due to security problems, so they may well just be disposed of. Also charity shops may well discard books that have been labelled in any way and they mostly chose only the books in the very best condition
to place on their shelves and discard the rest-so another bad release option.

This along with its friends arrived safely in a mystery package. I haven't read this, it looks interesting and it isn't something that I would probably pick up . Many thanks for your very generous surprise gift I look forward to reading it.

Firstly I think it's only fair that I point out that despite this being no 36 in the 87th Precinct series this is the first that I've actually read, this may have a bearing on my rating.

I'm not sure if this the norm or if have they had been fully fleshed out in previous books but there was little in the way of characterisation here. I managed to work out who the perpetrator was quite early on as well as the conclusion, the action was largely procedural with few twists and turns but no great leaps either. Overall I felt that this was a steady rather than spectacular piece of writing and whilst I wouldn't avoid reading other books in the series I wouldn't rush to grab them either.
