picked it up in the Valentin book box. It looks a bit weird.

Journalists Valerie Jones and Hugo Vansitart meet at an Awards Dinner; mutual attraction takes them to a Holiday Inn for "afters" and they remain there, abandoning spouse and children, while they write, independently, memoirs about Eleanor Darcy, whose professor husband Julian is serving a prison sentence. Eleanor shares her Utopian visions with her husband: a world with no money, no boundaries, no racial discrimination...
Some interesting ideas, but to my mind too much interference from God and the Devil. Written in 1990 (still communication by fax) and quite dated.
One of Eleanor's theories is that it is good to change one's name several times during a lifetime as it changes your life and the way other's see you, and I agree with that.
I would have liked the book better if I had been able to like Eleanor. Perhaps she should have stayed with Apricot.
