The second of the Australian series, this one is like the Empire Strikes Back. Not as good, kind of dark, and leaves you hanging. I found the first one, The Potato Factory, at a book exchange in Quanzhou, China. The first page, with the description of Ikey Solomon, had me immediately hooked. I enjoyed that book the most of all of Courtenay's that I have read.

I found this one in a thrift store in Salem, Oregon. I don't think it stands alone well. Read The Potato Factory first.
