I started reading this thinking it would be a murder mystery type of book, and in a way it is.
I think it is more about the characters and how they interact, and how thy came to be where they are in Japan.
I found it quite confusing to have 2 characters one, Lucy and one Lily. So similar, I regularly had to go back and make sure which girl it was.
I don’t mind that a book has an inconclusive ending, to me that allows you to think about what might have happened and why.
The thing that is most annoying about the style of writing is that sometimes the character Lucy, refers to herself in the 3rd person. This is often where the confusion of Lucy & Lily was most obvious.
It’s a very average kind of book. But someone else may enjoy it a different way to me.
