This is the story of a real life New York socialite who helped the Ravensbruck
Rabbits, a group of prisoners who were experimented on without their consent. The book follows three different women when Hitler's army invades Poland. Caroline is in New York, Kasia is in Poland, and Herta in Germany, so there are three voices that are woven together to tell a story I knew nothing about.
I read this for PopSugar's 2021 Reading Challenge prompt: A book set in multiple countries
Reserved for the Around the World bookbox.

Notes from my copy:
Intertwined stories of 3 women in WWII - Caroline, a socialite in NY with ties to France; Kasia, a teen who works for the Polish underground until she's caught and is sent to a concentration camp with her sister and mother; Herta, an ambitious newly minted MD who is being held back by the German regime, but spies an opportunity to excel at Kasia's concentration camp. The book continues for 15 years after the war, as Kasia tries to rebuild her life, and Caroline's work brings her into contact with Kasia. The ending with Herta was a bit off, but overall the book was heartbreaking.
This copy will head out to the LFL at to Souderton Pool, across from the bandshell tonight
