Whose Body?
2 journalers for this copy...

I never knew my mother-in-law. She died before I and my husband first met. But there are still some of her possessions in our house, and amongst them, a great stack of paperback books. I have my husband's permission to read whichever ones I wish to, and to release them on afterwards. It feels like I'm getting to finally know her slightly!

Not my favourite Sayers book, but it was alright. I didn't realise until afterwards that this was her first novel - and hence the first time Lord Peter Wimsey and Parker were introduced. It's interesting that she chose to give Wimsey such a backstory. You do get the impression when reading that this is midway through a series, given the amount of his previous cases and exploits referred to.
Despite him being - let's face it - a pretty awful man; I do have a soft spot for Wimsey. He's so different from most other literary detectives. His aristocratic ability to just wander in and out of a live police investigation as he pleases is quite fun.
