The Book of Lost Names

I've enjoyed other books by this author, so thought this one looked good.
I'm a fan of the WWII genre, especially historical fiction that's based on true events or real people. Every story is always gut-wrenching (as it should be, so we can learn from history's past mistakes and equally from its heroism), but I find that I usually learn something about the ingenuity of the people who lived through it or helped others survive. So in that vein, this book was solid. It was interesting to learn about the aspect of document forging as a part of the Resistance movement - something I hadn't really thought about before, but of course had to be a crucial part. As always, it was heartwarming to think of all those who risked their lives to help complete strangers.
The parts of the book that didn't work so well for me were:
1. I really got sick of the constant guilt trip from Eva's mother. I get it, but come on -- a little gratitude or understanding would be good.
2. The romance seemed a little contrived. I liked him, but it felt forced.
3. After all of that, we don't get to know what ultimately happened with the escape to Switzerland??
4. This may be nitpicky, but the constant use of names in the dialogue was overkill. People don't constantly say the other person's name (or pet name) in every single sentence. It felt unnatural reading it.
Overall though, I still enjoyed the story and gobbled it up in just two days. Although it's not the best book I've read on this topic, it's still worthwhile to those who also enjoy reading this genre.
