Get in the mood for Christmas with a hilarious and heart-warming festive novel - it's time to meet the Gillespies!
Angela Gillespie's annual Christmas letter has always been full of her family's triumphs.
But this year she surprises everyone, including herself - because she tells the truth . . .
Angela's husband is in the throes of a mid-life crisis. Her daughters are more out of control than ever. And her youngest child spends all of his time talking to an imaginary friend.
And as the repercussions of her ruthlessly honest letter begin to pile up, a shocking event takes Angela from her family, and she realises that perhaps she should have been more careful of what she wished for . . .

A holiday read while on a road trip. Started it in Canberra and I finished reading this in Lilydale, outer Melbourne. An enjoyable read. Had a few silly things, such as that country people drive slowly and carefully on country dirt roads. Really, so those farmer looking characters ripping at speed towards me down gravel country roads in their utes and 4WDs, as though they know the road well (and aren't expecting to meet another driver), aren't local! Um, country drivers drive fast on the roads they know. I did as a teen when living on a farm for a few months. I shouldn't have, I was still a terrible driver, and inexperienced. The road was sealed, but I knew every pothole, of which there were quite a few, and every bend. Not at milking time though. Also the kissy kissy of one of the daughters I found annoying, making her into a cloying character. Besides that and for most of the book a good read.
