Nomadland describes the dark underbelly of the American economy - transient, older adults who have taken to the road in RVs and modified vans, forming a growing community of low-cost working nomads.

This was well written and interesting, although I was hoping for a bit more research and facts - perhaps more insight into the causes, or more statistics about how widespread this phenomenon is, or what could be done to provide better safety nets for people.

The focus was primarily on looking at individuals and small groups as examples or case studies, with just occasional asides about trends and root causes. Regardless of all that, it was done in an interesting way, and it provided good fodder for discussion in my book group in early July, 2021. Most of us had also seen the Nomadland movie which didn't try to cover everything from the book, but confined itself mainly to a single thread.
