From the outside looking in, Lauren Delaney has a life to envy—a successful career, a solid marriage to a prominent surgeon and two beautiful daughters who are off to good colleges. But on her twenty-fourth wedding anniversary Lauren makes a decision that will change everything.
Lauren won’t pretend things are perfect anymore. She defies the controlling husband who has privately mistreated her throughout their marriage and files for divorce. And as she starts her new life, she meets a kindred spirit—a man who is also struggling with the decision to end his unhappy marriage.
But Lauren’s husband wants his “perfect” life back and his actions are shocking. Facing an uncertain future, Lauren discovers an inner strength she didn’t know she had as she fights for the love and happiness she deserves.

I really enjoyed this romance/mystery. It was nice to see the romance part from the perspective of two people who are getting out of abusive marriages and finding each other for support.
Crossingguardma is dropping by to pick up a few books for camping.
A Sing-song pass off! Thanks!
Boy some people have bad partners! Interesting read. I suppose if one saw what was happening from the outside, they might judge it all wrong.
We were invited to play cards at Sing-songs and we did a book exchange as well! Thanks Sing song!
Had a card game with Barb tonight, so she returned some books and brought more to add to my shelf.
Released this into the Book Box at our meetup at Cravings. It was nice to be back there. Dropped the Book Box off to Barb #2.
I am dismantling Book Box 2 as we are back to in person meetings. Books will be sorted and bagged up for either a person who requested it or to the person who introduced it to the group. Please help me out if you can by making arrangements to collect your books. I have enough of my own books to deal with so please wild release or give away your own books as I don't have the capacity right now.
