The Compleat Loo: A Lavatorial Miscellany
4 journalers for this copy...

I found this hardcover at a local Goodwill thrift shop. It's an amusing look at the history of the loo, from the hardware and plumbing to different styles of decoration to graffiti to high-tech "smart" toilets. Lots of illustrations, cartoons, photos, advertisements, and more. Among the goofier bits: a series of cartoons on "what some people's loos ought to look like", such as Houdini's - enclosed in a locked safe bound in chains - or Superman's - in a phone booth, etc. I liked the humor and the history, especially some of the more obscure photos. Could make a nice companion piece to Wiped: The Curious History of Toilet Paper!

I'm adding this book to the Biographies of Things bookbox - bookbox-journal here. The box will be on its way to its next stop soon; hope people enjoy the selection!

This was on my maybe list to take out of the box, but I think I will let it travel some more.

Finally ready to start another round of the Biographies of Things book box, which means I have to realize that I never catalogued the ones that were in the box when it returned to me. This one is good for another round.

I'm reclaiming this one from the latest round of the Biographies of Things bookbox.

I'm planning to give this to BCer iddylu as a possible candidate for books-to-take-on-an-upcoming-trip - or to release locally, whatever appeals. Enjoy!

To take traveling with me on some upcoming trip or another (I have three planned for 2023)!
