Picked up this book from a rather ill planned community bookshelf and it was quite wet. I didn't think it was in a state to release, however it is drying out well and I think it is worth registering it. Still isn't fully dry after 24 hours. I will read this as part of the reading around the world challenge

It is however quite an unusual concept, following the experiences of individual members on one day. "The Falafel King" dies and leaves a huge hole. It is based in a village close to the Lebanese border in Israel during the time of war between the two countries. The village is bombed by the Lebanese on the day the story is set. The story actually grows as you go through the family members and although it took me quite a while to get into the story, I was hooked by the end. How each of the family members were trying to support each other in a very difficult circumstances is very touching indeed.
