This was not an easy read, however one that taught me a huge amount about the history of Uruguay and its surrounding countries. It follows 3 generations of women through the trials of their lives and through the troubles of the time they lived in. It is harrowing in many places and really gives a good insight into what it was/is like to live in situations where freedom of speach is not an option.
