I finally located another copy of this - it was I think the first bookring that I signed up to but it got lost. So now all I have to do is read it to set it back on its way...

I have really enjoyed this brave book. Such a difficult, sensitive topic and I have to say, the first time I have read anything from a Jewish/Israeli persective written sympathetically about the plight of the Palestinians in the conflict. I wish these voices were more apparent. I would have loved to hear more about how Asa's mother was left feeling towards the end of the book. Not necessarily a super-polished book either stylistically or creatively but I am inclined to be forgiving and definitely appreciated the read. There were some passages within it that I really thought very well-written. Thumbs up from me, on the whole.

I have written to E-sr, okyrhoe and Annimanni who in theory were interested in reading it but time has passed and it seems they have passed on to other things maybe - I've had no response. There are several things I could do to pass this book on to someone new - not sure right now what I will do.

None of the people still on the bookring responded to my messages but happily Mecu who is in Finland has just requested it :).

This was waiting to be posted since January but until at least March, maybe April, the Post Office in the UK was refusing international parcels due to technological collapse...! Then I have been extraordinarily busy.... But finally it went in the post yesterday.

Thanks a lot for the book! I had completely forgotten about it, so it was a total surprise when the package arrived :D But the timing was perfect: my bookish around the world tour is about to get in the Middle East.

I started reading this summer but I had to stop after two chapters. Us against them was there a bit too strongly for me. And because the current situation at the region is war, I have to let this book ago. I know I won't be able to read it any time soon or even later.
