Baby Faces is an enjoyable book and toy! The pages are board discs punched with two holes through which black and white string is threaded with a green rattle ball attached. [The rattle is great fun!] The book has photographs of various babies and toddlers on one side and a very brief description of the mood particular child on the other. The photographs are in black and white and well taken. Very young children apparently respond better to monochrome than coloured illustrations. The text is large and presented on a two tone coloured background and are all words which parents will use on a regular basis when talking to their offspring, though maybe not in quite the same context! I did think of a use for the book for when the string eventually frays and/or snaps, and that to use the discs as coasters!
