Heard many great things about this book. I hope to read it following Maya Angelou's "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings"

Great read. Despite the fact that the whole books takes place in one setting, it really does draw the reader in. Maybe it's beacuse there is less time spent trying to establish yourself in the book's setting. I loved that a man of so many words loved his opposite (a woman of so few). I'm not sure that Gen really loved Roxanne, but perhaps in the face of a catastrophe, everyone's perception changes just a little. Thanks again for sharing. Will be passing this along to aliaskris29 next week (upon her return to ottawa).

What a beautiful story. A love story of all kinds. The story is compared to the Stockholm Syndrome, In this day it is hard to see people relate in a gentle way to captors (bad guy). But the way the story is told one wishes it was that simple to love of a different kind, to be isolated from the harsh world, to live in a world without hate. One can only try and make a better world for the future. To make the world a bit more tolerable to live in and have it mesh together.

I'm glad I got to read the book, although it was a very slow start. but around the 100th page it did pick up. I think the ending could of been a bit better. It was a little sloppy. Reminded me of movie that didn't know where to go at the end.
