I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. I have to say I really enjoyed it. The story pulled me in from the start. The art is kind of plastic and smooth looking. However it works ok here. There are three more volumes in the collection. I think I will try and track them down.
Since the winner of the Manga/graphic novel sweeps is in the USA I am sending the four books from this series to them from my bookshelf. I hope they enjoy it.

Recently finished the 4-book series. Enjoyable story for the most part, there were some areas that could use something more, but still good as-is. I wasn't a fan of the artwork. A bit flat and some of the characters looked too similar. Overall, a fun, violent, quick read! Thanks for sharing this series with me, nimrodiel!

Tas did not turn. "Yes," he said, reluctantly. "I have to leave it."
"But, Tas, why?"
Tas squared his shoulders as though firming some resolve. But still he did not turn. "Because the shepherd said that it could only be used once. Thats why I can't get the pipe to play that song-or any song. I've used the magic." He took a deep breath and went on. "And he said that once I found the magic I had the pass the pipe on." he paused and then he did turn, a scamp's humor in his long brown eyes. "It's going to be a long winter.
