I can’t say that this book was surprising, it was what I expected it to be. If one day he is held accountable, then I’ll be surprised.

Thanks for fulfilling yet another wish, soozreader! You must be my fairy godmother, or something!
Mary L. must be a brave lady, as I've heard that Donald never forgets those who stood against him. This will be a very interesting read.

Having just finished an Englishman's journey through Trumpland in Ford T-model and finally understanding how ignorant Americans really are (out of the 16 republican president candidates in 2015 only one believed in evolution and even he thought it should not be taught at school!!!) I began reading this. For some reason I had asumed the focus would have been on Donald, but obviously Mary wanted to show the world how wrongly her father had been treated. I guess parental favouritism was the norm during my granparent's time, at least my paternal granny always told us who her best son was (my step-uncle, whose father was also killed by the Spanish Flu, just like Donald's grandpa) and my mother never forgave her family the way they put my auntie on a pedestal, but just like Freddy (minus becoming an alcoholic) Mom still tried to get their approval and praises as an adult, which I think is typical for children who had been neglected in that area of life. My paternal granny lived with us for seven years when I was little, but when she began to show favouritism over two of her three grandsons, Mom told Dad granny has to move out before she damages my brother. Granny would come back from the shop and gather my brothers around her (I was too little), giving them candy, except to one. Then she would innocently say: "Now how did I forget you?"
I've been to Stornoway, outside which the ship taking soldier boys home sank (pic).
This appears a fast read, I'm nearly half way through, must faster than the previous book.

Finished reading on a park bench in the shade. It's one of those warm end-of-summer days we will soon miss, when it'll be wet, dark and cold.
Mary was a bit repetitive at times, emphasizing what Donald went through as a three-year-old. She also revealed that it was she who gave the financial documents to the New York times, although it seems that her relatives hadn't been suspecting her. No more wedding invitations after that, I suppose, but again I was wondering what glued her to this miserable family if not money in the first place? They had killed the spirit of her father, they didn't seem to care about his children. She never talked about spending time with her maternal relatives who hardly could have been worse.
About the law case of Fred's will: Only a moron asks her opponent who she would hire for her attorney!

Will take part of the Helmet-challenge with this book which has caused public discussion and a bit of a scandal. I bet Donald would love to be an Imaam who could put a prize on his niece's head, like they did to Salman Rushdie (who is currently in hospital after a knifed person attacked him in NY as Rushdie was about to hold a speech).
