This book practically jumped off the shelf at me Saturday while I was checking out the bookshelves at the Goodwill Store... I thought it was a great investment for only 99cents! I've almost finished it and have several ideas of how to get our finances back on track....

Now all I have to do is get the hubby on board for these new break-through goals and we'll be off and running again...

I'll probably hang onto this one for a while as use it as a reference book, but eventually I'll release it into the wild to help some other woman increase her confidence in handling money!

This isn't your typical book about finances and budgeting. Mary Hunt and her family recovered from devastating debt in the '80s--a debt incurred secretly over years of using credit card after credit card, compounded by the spectacular failure of the business she started with her husband. There's a strong religious component to her beliefs about money and responsibility, but she comes across as upbeat and modest, rarely dogmatic (except about the evils of easy credit). She encourages openness about money problems, and there's a sense of genuine caring in her writing that eliminates the distance between her and the reader--a quality she's put to good use with her Cheapskate Monthly newsletter. This is one of the best books you can buy--regardless of your gender--about the financial pitfalls of modern life and how to climb out of them.

Released on Sunday, July 04, 2004 at AmSouth Bank - Airways Branch in Southaven, Mississippi USA.

I plan to release this at sunset today at the drive thru ATM in honor of "Independence Day"...
Financial independence means a great deal to me and this book has some very helpful information....

Released right before sunset --- I hope someone picks it up soon... it's just barely standing on that little ledge!
