Thought I'd read this for the story, but there's too much focus on the actual fighting for my taste: MMA is really not my thing and I generally skip over blow-by-blow descriptions of battles, etc.

An atmospheric novel set just across the Mexican border, this one held some surprisingly touching moments against a brutal and bleak backdrop.
With vivid, direct, and concise prose, this isn't a book only for those interested in mixed martial arts (MMA) fighting.

Started today. It should be a fast read.
Not my usual type of read. I really didn’t care for the characters or whatever the outcome was going to be. I finished it because it is set in Mexico and I can count for the 666 challenge.
