So I don’t remember thinking the first book was that interesting (but obviously interesting enough to keep reading), but this book was so complex, interesting and frustrating.

I want to shake Elena for just not getting it, even in her narrator future self. Everything about her self image being tied to Lila, the competition and comparison that they just can’t let go of. It’s such an incredibly abusive relationship. Do either of them actually just genuinely enjoy each other or are they forever just comparing themselves to one another?
