I really enjoyed this book!
Although it definitely isn't a light read that will put a smile on your face, the author really draws you into the life of this tragic family.
I especially enjoyed how Oates left you up in the air in regard to the event that changed the family's life. The reader KNOWS what has happened, but doesn't have confirmation until quite a way into the book. Great strategy that kept me devouring pages!

I really did not get into this book. I tried to read it and maybe it is the timing but it just wasn't flowing for me. I appoligize for the delay I caused this ring.... I put it on my shelf and literally forgot about it.

With the holiday craze I was unable to finish this book. But, alas, it is time to send it on its way. I hope to get another chance to finish it someday. I did like the imagery used in the book, from what I did read. One thing that began to irk me though is how one sentence could be a paragraph long and still not say anything. Thanks so much for including me in this ring beckerbuns. This book is on its way back to you.
