Vivacious Sancha of Aragon arrives in Rome newly wed to a member of the notorious Borgia dynasty. Surrounded by the city's opulence and political corruption, she befriends her glamorous and deceitful sister-in-law, Lucrezia, whose jealousy is as legendary as her beauty. Some say Lucrezia has poisoned her rivals, particularly those to whom her handsome brother, Cesare, has given his heart. So when Sancha falls under Cesare's irresistible spell, she must hide her secret or lose her life. Caught in the Borgias' sinister web, she summons her courage and uses her cunning to outwit them at their own game. Vividly interweaving historical detail with fiction, The Borgia Bride is a richly compelling tale of conspiracy, sexual intrigue, loyalty, and drama.
This was a good read. I do love historical fiction/ nonfiction. Interesting character in a very weird time (late 1400's/ early 1500's) where the pope leads a very sexual life. His children are power hungry and the poor river sure has a lot of people that end up in it. The most AHHH thing in the book - her father and a cardinal were present when her new husband (13 years old) consummates their marriage. They were both eyeing up her boobs!

Doing a COVID porch release this morning to one of my favorite readers.
Enjoyed our visit, sing-song, plus the bonus of new books! Thanks!
I enjoyed this book. I am annoyed that I didn't write the journal entry when I finished it plus it has been on my shelf a couple of years!
Book returned to sing-song.
Had a lovely visit in rureading's yard to drop off books and pick up some new ones and bring some back. Lovely visit on a sunny but slightly cool day.
Released this at our meetup at Cravings. It was nice to be back there.
