The bed and breakfast where we stayed in Nashville had a book shelf for visitors, but the collection was permanent, not take-one, leave one. I left a couple of books anyway and the proprietor insisted I take one in exchange that had been abandoned by another guest. Baldacci isn't my cup of tea, but I felt bad about turning down the book.
