Thank you for the birthday book :-))))

I have been trying to read more Asian authors and “Ponti” seemed to be a good choice to travel to Singapore and enter the strange mother-daughter relationship between the recluse ex-actress Amise and her lonely teenage daughter Szu. The book has a great sense of place, with stylish writing, but it is not very plot-driven and I found it quite slow and “incomplete” in certain parts. But worth the read for the imagery and different style.
