Major Pettigrew's Last Stand
2 journalers for this copy...
I came across another copy of this book in a bookbox, so I will release this one for someone else to have!
I'm taking this softcover from imawinn2's shrinking bookbox. I've seen comparisons of this one to E. F. Benson's delightful (and snarky) Mapp and Lucia books; we shall see!
Later: Perhaps I hoped for too much, what with the Benson mention; still, there was a lot of entertainment here, with humor and a hard-won romance. And I definitely appreciated seeing some people of color - the Mapp and Lucia books were of their time, and very, very white.
[Apparently there's a projected TV series adaptation in the works, though I didn't see a show-date. Could be entertaining!]
