This is a collection of Bukowski short stories. They are very typical of his writing -- gruff, hardcore, raw. This was great stuff when I was in my early 20s.

passed to me by my friend S, because it reminded her of me? I'll probably leave this one in a bar, maybe in Good Times. It's a beat thing, this book, like, you know? vaguely reminicent of Ken Kesey et al, but much more depressingly graphic in its descriptions of meaningless depressing sex, and maybe meaninglessness in general. why does art have to be so ugly to be valid these days?
