"'You're beautiful,' Johnny told her. So, full of hope, seventeen-year-old Felicia crosses the Irish Sea to England to find her lover and tell him she is pregnant."
This is a chilling read. Hard to put down. I was in a constant state of unease, the suspense was very well done. However, the main character (Felicia) I thought was a bit flat. She seemed to more fill the role of "innocent, vulnerable young woman" than anything else. Mr. hilditch on the other hand (the real protagonist?) was a terrifying, fascinating character.
