I had never heard about this flood so took the opportunity to read a little bit about it, what a devastating loss.

A fast paced gripping read.
Taking to the September BookCrossing meetup to be enjoyed by the next reader
Imagine being in Grade 8 again and babysitting two school age students. One in grade 6 and the other in Grade 1. Of course, the relationship with the boy in Grade 6 is not easy! She picks them up from school one day and it is raining and keeps raining. As the babysitter, she is feels extremely responsible for the two children and gets them home and that is where the trouble begins. Based on a true story these 3 children are trapped in the house and the water level rises and keeps rising. As it rises, they become very resilient to try and escape this rising water and in the process form a relationship that I am certain will carry them through the rest of their lives, that is of course if they escaped!
This is a very short book that will take not time to read and it kind of grips you because it is a true event.

Just picked this book up at our last meeting. Looking forward to reading.
This is a fast paced and dramatic story about a flood that hits in 1954 and how 13 year old Lizzy Hardy. She was babysitting 3 kids and the flood hits and they are stuck in a house that is flooding and she got the kids out of the house before the house was taken off it's foundation and floated down the river that the flood had made. It was a horrifying night, but they escaped drowning.
Brought this back from the November meetup at Cravings Restaurant.
A true story! Amazing story that is Canadian about kids from Weston, Ontario survive a flood where they have to keep getting higher in the house to secape the rising flood waters. That was SOME babysitting job!
Dropped off on the doorstep of RuReading to start her New Year off nicely.
Thank you for the porch drop of books!
This was a great short story from Eric Walters. Based on a true event this was a gripping tale.
Book returned to sing-song.
Had a lovely visit in rureading's yard to drop off books and pick up some new ones and bring some back. Lovely visit on a sunny but slightly cool day.
Released this into the Book Box at our meetup at Cravings. It was nice to be back there. Dropped the Book Box off to Barb #2.
I am dismantling Book Box 2 as we are back to in person meetings. Books will be sorted and bagged up for either a person who requested it or to the person who introduced it to the group. Please help me out if you can by making arrangements to collect your books. I have enough of my own books to deal with so please wild release or give away your own books as I don't have the capacity right now.
