WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I can't say it's a great book. It was a pleasant diversion, and to be honest, I had never heard about the town of Hay-on-Wye and it is now on my bucket list of places to visit!
It was an odd juxtaposition of family anecdotes and bookish esoterica. Individually I enjoyed both sides, but it felt like I was jumping back and forth between two different books. I think the muddling of the two was not done well, I would have happily read a memoir about Paul Collins and his family's time in the UK where they just happened to live THE book town. I would have loved a little book of anecdotes about the bookstores in Hay-on-Wye and the uniqueness of the second hand book business. In one book? It just didn't work for me.
