From the Cover:
"Young Gavir sometimes sees into the future. He can neither explain nor control this power, and his beloved older sister wisely advises him to keep it secret. It doesn't really get in the way of his comfortable life as a house slave for a great family.
Then tragedy strikes, in a most unexpected way, destroying Gavir's trust in all he has ever known. Fleeing in blind grief, he finds himself on a dangreous journy towards a goal he does not understand - is he seeking freedom, or his own people? Or is he seeking for the true use of his strage powers?"

Das Buch ist Nebula-Preisträger 2008

The world-building in this book is fascinating: a whole lot of different societies with different life styles. - But somehow I did not get warm with the book. Especially in the beginning it drags on without a clou where the story is leading and even finished I‘m not quite sure, what was the point in it.

I read this book in spring but didn't get around to writing an entry yet. This is the third and final book in a series but was fine to read as a standalone, too. I really enjoyed the fictional world that the reader gets to explore through the eyes of the young protagonist.
