Found this on a recent visit to a fabulous independent book shop near the V&A museum in London. Looking forward to reading it, especially as I’ve have watched some videos of this author speaking. She is a very eloquent and interesting speaker.

This author is such a beautiful and eloquent speaker (I’ve seen some of her interviews on YouTube and Facebook). So I was keen to see if her voice translates as well in her written words. Here I found a well constructed, balanced, thought provoking argument for us all being feminists. As a woman (who’s ethnicity isn’t easy to define - I’m a mixture of things), and a woman who works in a traditionally male environment I was scared and a bit disgusted by the word ‘feminist’. But why?! Especially as I didn’t really know or understand what it was. I think I now have a much better idea and more fire in my belly to talk about it. Whilst reading this essay I though of arguments against what she was saying, only for her to answer me in the next sentence. I am planning to buy some more copies to distribute. Let the debate begin! Unless we start talking about the issues and thinking about how to fix things, nothing will change.
