YAY! Thank you Lamilla - I've wanted to read this ever since I was gifted the author's small book: 'The Unknown Unknown: Bookshops and the Delight of Not Getting What You Wanted', which is fantastic! I'm so looking forward to reading this once it gets off the rather vast Mt TBR - thank you :D

Oh this is a book to be savoured over time! I apologize to all the people I have said 'Did you know?' to and then told them about the interesting wordy things I'd learned while reading this book. Some of you seemed interested, some of you looked like you wanted to escape from this word-mad person.
I loved the circular nature of the whole thing, that the last brings us back to the first. That cleverness raises my rating from 9 stars to 10. I look forward to reading another of Mark Forsyth's books when I next get my hands on one :D

Thanks for this cuz. One of my Dad's "go to" books used to be "Brewers Dictionary of Phase and Fable" ... This reminded me of him getting that book out to answer one of my many questions!
