The Tempest is one of the Shakespeare plays I'm most familiar with. So it was a pleasure reading Atwood's translation in this fictional novel. The prison discussions about The Tempest were enlightening. As for the conclusion, I thought things fell together to easily. (Spoiler if I explain the 'things'.) But keeping the play in mind makes the ending sensible. The stories very end - and it's concluding lines - were very heartfelt.

Interesting re-telling of The Tempest -- sort of a play within a play.
