PS, I Love You

Somehow I had never read this book, or watched the movie based on it. Even though I think it’s a bit of a classic within its genre. When I saw it at the thrift store for 10 swedish crowns (1€), I obviously had to buy this.
First of all, it’s not a very happy book. The story entails a woman, Holly, who recieves letters from her dead husband, Gerrie. Gerrie was the love of her life, her soulmate, her everything and unfortunately she lost him due to a brain tumor. Holly needs to go on with her life, even though it feels impossible. Suddenly she recieves a package containing 10 letters from gerrie, all labeled with the month she can open them. The letters are her guide to life and she follows every bit of advice that is in there.
Besides Holly’s life, you also get a bit of a glimpse in the life of her friends and family. I think it shows wonderfully how the world moves on, even in the darkest moments of your own personal tragedy.

Many thanks for this book and the lovely stamps!
I haven’t seen the film of this book but I’m pretty sure it would make me cry!
This was one of the Richard & Judy’s 2004 book recommendations and I’m glad I read it. I enjoyed the humour in the book which broke up what could have been a difficult book to read.
AVL until I find a new reader.
