I had never heard about this book before I ran into it at the flea market. I took it because of the number reading challenge I´m in at the Finnish forum, but also because that text in the cover got my attention. Hannah Baker was a girl who committed a suicide in this book and a son of my friend committed a suicide just a while ago, so this book really wasn´t an easy read. It was creepy listening to the tapes with Clay as you really couldn´t tell what was coming next.

Thank you, got the book from Peonio yesterday. I have really wanted to read the book after seeing the first season of the series in Netflix conveniently the third season was launched yesterday. I think I'll have a marathon and finalize it with the book. :)

I do recommend the series, it reaches new levels after the first season and continues to cover various aspects of the world teenagers live in. I think it opens a new kind of dialogue.

What can I say? I read most of it in one day, it was a page turner even as I knew how the story goes. It was excellent in all it's sadness and horribleness. Hannah really got her own voice in the book, telling us how several small things can end up in a huge mess you cant get over. The books very well written, Clay's responses to Hannah story felt like a dialogue between him and Hannah. I think this is one of the books that should be required reading in school.

I prefer to watch the movie first as usually the book deepens the story I already know. I'm happy to say that the series are quite truthful to the book and the dramatization works well with the story Hannah tells in the book. Of course there's few minimal changes in the story line. The casting in the series is wonderful, Asher has given a lot of flexibility to that and readers imagination by not defining the characters too much. And that's one one of the things that makes this book timeless.

Wow, what a book! I was just addicted to this story and it was hard to take breaks from it. Very well written, interesting characters and thrilling. Though first I was little tired of Hannah’s complaining but of course she had plenty of reasons for it.

This book will be released at BookCrossing meeting in the restaurant world of Sokos.

The book is on my TBR shelf now.

I had heard a lot about both this book and the Netflix series and based on what I'd heard was wondering whether to read or see/listen first. I chose reading, but may as well check on the series later. This book clearly falls to the category Teens, I might have "liked" it more if I had it in my hands some 35 plus years ago... You can't really like a book with such a sad story, but the experiences of the world falling apart because the cruelty of peers are more real for a teenager than a middleager; not saying one can't be depressed and out of hope any age. The text was easy English, and quite annoingly, I somehow found myself translating it to Finnish simultaniously with reading. This doesn't usually happen when I read in foreign languages.
