Agatha is going through a man-hating phase and so is unmoved by news of the captivating new curate. But when she meets the golden-haired, blue-eyed Tristan Delon, she is swept off her feet...
I hope you enjoy this book!
Thank you sooo much for this WishList book, which came in a box filled with them.

This series of novels is so highly enjoyable! I love the Cotswolds setting, the description of village life... I even saw a duck race once in Bourton-on-the-Water! (See pic.)
In my opinion, Agatha is a credible and quite lovable character... and this must be one of her best adventures, at least from the ones I have read so far.
I have just one problem, which is "her bear-like eyes"... I don't know what to think of this... But she is a down-to-earth lady, which we all can identify with at one point...
As usual, I'd like to share some quotes I found interesting:
"Agatha had tried to get interested in cooking. The Sunday supplements of the newspapers were full of recipes and coloured photos of delicious meals. Everyone who was anyone knew how to cook exotic dishes these days. But it was very hard to plan exotic meals for one." (I can relate to this, and her frequent microwaved dishes... while she is willing to cook for her cats!)
"He had a way to making me feel good about myself. I suppose the secret is to feel good about oneself without relying on other people, but that is a very hard thing to do."
"The days when it was considered bad manners to type a letter to a friend are long gone."
Thanks for sharing, motherof11, I really enjoyed reading it, and it will soon continue travelling... :)

Sent today to the winner of the Occupational Sweeps...
I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did! :)

I received this yesterday morning as part of the occupation sweeps. It's been a very rainy weekend in Edinburgh so once I'd done my errands I spent the rest of Saturday reading, so have now finished this one. :-) I agree with bookwormlady about Agatha's eyes being described as bear-like. I've never quite understood that. She always has some good insights into life too. Thank you for sharing this one with me, Agatha was good fun as usual.
And off it goes in the already crossed bookbox. Happy reading!
Taken from the Already Crossed Bookbox.
I thought Agatha was a bit annoying at times but I still really like her. I didn't like John, I found him very annoying and a bit controlling. There's lots of good characters though and it's an ok story.
