A collection of posthumously published essays and stories of Marina Keegan, an american Yale graduate who died in a car accident five days after graduation.
I got this book among some books I bought in internet flea market. I'm not much into short stories, so I didn't get excited about any of the stories in this book. The Emerald City was the most memorable of them for me. I didn't particularly care about the essays either, although they're well written. The title essay, The Opposite of Loneliness, is a nice graduation speech type of text, though, and if you had a good time in university or any school, it's quite appealing.

I took this from bookcrossing meet-up today. Because I read so little in English, I prefer short stories.
I read less than 70 pages of the book and decided to skip this one.
I would think the stories touch younger than I do.
Keegan wrote just fine, but the merits of this book are not so miraculous. The popularity of the book is apparently more based on the fact that Keegan died tragically.

This book arrived last week. I really didn't expect to ever read this book, as I thought it maybe a bit niche. I added this to my wishlist after reading about her death. Looking forward to the read.

Finished about two weeks ago. It was an okay read. But she wrote better than I ever could. I agree with the above journallers.
