I've been BookCrossing since 2005 but haven't done much by post in recent years and I've never been part of the whole 'sending out book boxes' scene, although I understand that it's quite active! So I hadn't realised that 8 books could be sent as cheaply as one or two - not until this morning when a very generous parcel from plum-crazy arrived on my doorstep!
Thank you very much indeed. I look forward to reading them all :0)
(Ooops: I've just had to edit this because I hit the wrong bracket and it wasn't a Smiley face . . . )

I'm not sure how to word this because, whatever I write, I know I'll be revealing more about myself than Hieroglyphics etc!
This is a collection of 18 short stories. I started the first one with confidence and optimism - but realised by the end of the first paragraph that I hadn't understood a word! The weird and wonderful spellings are no doubt meant to convey dialect, probably Glaswegian, but I couldn't decode them - or, perhaps more accurately, I couldn't be bothered to put the time in to decode them . . .
So, I jumped to story Number 2, with exactly the same result . . .
Persevering to the third, I was delighted to read it straight through - and the same with the fourth . . .
But with the fifth, I was back to giving up at the first hurdle . . .
In the end, I succeeded in reading only 6 of the 18, the one I enjoyed most being the last one, Zimmerobics which I loved :-)
Anyway, thanks again, plum-crazy. I guess you can't win 'em all!! I can't claim to have read this. I think I'll have to classify it as Unfinished!

To tree-hugger - it was lovely to see you again this afternoon :-)

I'm afraid I'm having to clear out a lot of bookcrossing books unread, which I feel very bad about, but needs must. I don't read much any more, so having hundreds of books on a To Be Read shelf is silly because I know I won't get around to them - they're better off finding new homes where they might get read.
