Fascinating story. We learn about the two parts of india and it isn't pleasant. Balram is a very likeable person despite what he's done. I also liked the style if writing.

It grew on me. At the beginning it didn't interest me very much but as the story developed I was hooked. It reminded me of my visit to India - as a Westerner I did not see the " true " India. It makes me even more certain that I must return. Very well written
