I've given this book a high score although I have still not managed to read it to the end.
It is simply too hard.
I used to devour books about the Holocaust, but now I find the sheer evil, the Darkness of the Human Heart way too painful to deal with.
I even prefer to watch videos of cute kittens rather than face the evil thought up by the human race.
This book hurts. I can only take it in very small bursts. And the pain starts almost immediately, with the torture and murder of a six-year old at hands of the head of the Łódź Ghetto in Poland in front of his own father.

This is a signed hardcover copy with a somewhat chewed corner as I had a teething puppy with the ability to climb.
