For twenty-eight years, things have been tripping along nicely for Cannie Shapiro, her mother has come charging out of the closet, and her father has long since dropped out of her world. But she loves her friends, her rat terrier, Nifkin, and her job as pop culture reporter for The Philadelphia Examiner. She's even made a tenuous peace with her plus-size body.
But the day she opens up a national women's magazine and sees the words "Loveing a Larger Woman" above her ex-boyfriend's byline, Cannie is plunged into misery... and the most amazing year of her life. From Philadelphia to Hollywood and back home again, she charts a new course for herself: mourning her losses, facing her past, and figuring out who she is and who she can become.

Though this was a little rough for me to get into at the start, I really ended up enjoying this book immensely! I identified with the lead character, and shared in her joy and her pain.
On its way to Hanrahan-Siudy for trade.
Arrived safe and sound
I found the book to have some interesting parts but I also found the main character a bit to whinny. Some parts were just to unrealistic. However it does make one realize that larger people do suffer tribulations that society has imposed. This story is about a larger women and how she comes to face both her past and her future.

Received this book today...hope to get started soon. Thanks for the trade!
This book wasn't quite what I expected...I also enjoyed some parts of it but was ready for the end. I think it's a different kind of story and is well written, just not my cup of tea.
Sending to tabby90. Enjoy.
Got in the mail as my end of a trade. Thanks!
This book with it's hot pink cover, bare legs, and large print title earned me more than a few strange looks when I carried it around with me.
I was expecting some light, fun chick lit. I found some of that and also some angst and misery. This book was more dramatic than I thought it would be. And it all rather rushed and cleaned up in the end.
Left in Carrollton, GA while I was on vacation.
