The Handmaid's Tale
1 journaler for this copy...
bought 4 books from amazon (average price 13.00)
After reading "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" and Ten Little Indians, I found this book really slow and boring. I am not going to vote for it in the great American read.
I totally agree with the following review on Amazon:
I bought this because i heard the hype, and as i started to read it, I kept hoping it would get better, but alas, it did not. The style of writing was annoying as if trying to be intellectual but not drawing a reader in. I'm interested in stories that make me want to read more. This one made me hope for a change or the end which btw, was long in coming and quite dull as was any climax of the story. I think people like this book because it fits their agenda. I never enjoy a book for an agenda; i enjoy a good story.
