I bought this from the Sue Ryder charity shop in Knaresborough yesterday because several years ago I enjoyed other novels about the kingdom of the Mer beneath the sea, including The Crossing of Ingo and always intended to read more :-)

Amazon Editorial Review: "The dramatic and spellbinding sequel to Helen Dunmore's critically acclaimed `Ingo'. "I can't go back in the house. I'm restless, prickling all over. The wind hits me like slaps from huge invisible hands. But it's not the wind that worries me. It's something else, beyond the storm..." Sapphire and Conor can't forget their adventures in Ingo, the mysterious world beneath the sea. They long to see their Mer friends Faro and Elvira, and swim with the dolphins once more. But a crisis is brewing far below the ocean's surface, where the wisest of the Mer guards the Tide Knot. And soon both Sapphire and Conor will be drawn into Ingo's troubled waters..."

A thrilling underwater adventure, full of magic and fantasy, with a message for young people about rising sea levels, ocean pollution, whale-hunting, over-fishing . . . .

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

To my daughter tree-hugger, who has too many unread books and doesn't want any more!

I'm afraid I'm having to clear out a lot of bookcrossing books unread, which I feel very bad about, but needs must. I don't read much any more, so having hundreds of books on a To Be Read shelf is silly because I know I won't get around to them - they're better off finding new homes where they might get read.

This is now taking a break back in Knaresborough before travelling on . . .

This is one of the books I swapped this afternoon on my first visit to the Saints red telephone box in quite a while. It's currently very well stocked, pleasingly so.
