From the inside "HOW THIS WORK HAPPENED" -- "...This was a woman I wanted to know -- as intimately and clearly as the seven-hundred year gap between her life and mine would permit. Although there are not too many documents deriving directly from Clare or writings about her by contemporaries, there are sufficient to piece together a chronological development of her life, lived at the heart of the brilliant thirteenth century."

Sent to a fellow BXer -- I hope you enjoy the book!

After recently reading a biography of St. Francis, I am excited to receive this biography of Clare.
This looks interesting and I hope to get to it soon. Thanks for sending it to me.

I tried to read this book twice and it just didn't capture me. After reading The Reluctant Saint (about St. Francis), I was curious to learn more about Clare. This book didn't seem to have much new (to me) material, so I stopped reading it. I have set this book aside to be wild released at the Grotto of Lourdes.
