CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
A wishlist book. Enjoy!

Arrived safely in NJ today. Thank you NancyNova for sharing this one with me. I recently read a book by this author after a magazine blurb and quickly added all the titles to my wishlist because I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to dive in and share it too!

This was a very entertaining read. Perfect book for a weekend read or vacation. The story had a nice amount of suspense, some good plot twists and even a few laughs. I enjoyed reading and seeing the characters develop along with the story. My favorite character? Celeste. The ending tied everything up nicely. The character I wish had a little more development? Bonnie.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This book is now traveling to BKind2Books. I believe I mentioned sending this after seeing you click "like to read" on Goodreads. My apologies for the delay. I hope you enjoy the read. Happy Reading and Happy BookCrossing!

No worries about a delay. I was not concerned for my TBR pile is high and it will take me a long while to work my way through it. I appreciate your generosity! Thanks for sharing.

...all marriages are complicated, aren't they?
Three women in vastly different relationships are brought together when their kids start kindergarten. There's Madeline - she's in her second marriage with Ed, struggling with her relationship to her teenaged Abigail, struggling with raising her 2 kids with Ed (Chloe is the kindergartener and Fred, a little older primary school student), and struggling with her first husband's second marriage to Bonnie (complicated by Abigail's rebellion *and* his child Skye also being a kindergartener at the same school). There's Celeste - married to Perry, a hedge fund manager, with 2 twin boys, and living in a elegant mansion and hiding a secret. Finally, there's Jane - young, sorta plain, single mother to Ziggy. Add to this a supporting cast of women and men - Renata, the high powered businesswoman and mother to Amabelle; Miss Barnes, the kindergarten teacher; Tom, the gay coffee shop owner - who are as finely drawn as the main ones.
The book counts down - from their initial meeting at the kindergarten orientation to Trivia Night, and it is apparent that there's been a death. The story is like an onion, with lots of layers that are slowly uncovered. Jane is hiding the circumstances of Ziggy's birth. Madeline is dealing with all the dynamics of blended families. Celeste is hiding her marriage's terrible price on her and her sons. This is a page turner. The characters had depth and none were entirely good or bad. The lies are uncovered, one by one, and the price that is exacted is high. Everything builds to a boiling point and the ending was just right. This was a page turner from beginning to end.
Quotes to remember:
Your child was a little stranger, constantly changing, disappearing and reintroducing himself to you.
...sometimes doing the wrong thing was also right.

RABCK for a bookcrossing friend - Enjoy!

The book arrived today. Thank you so much for sharing this wishlist book with me. I have it on my shortlist to read.

I chose this book because of all the great reviews. I have found Lianey Moriarty a hit or miss with me. It starts with a school (kindergarten) drama. This book isn’t really plot or character driven. I found none of the characters likable. In fact, they all got on my nerves. Moriarty tried to tackle too many issues in one book. I don’t plan on watching the TV show.

Enjoy! Wishlist surprise tag along book to book_drunkard for Allergic to A Release Challenge 2022
