I really enjoyed this book - so much so that I didn't notice the time twice when reading in the evening leading to very late nights. Jody is a newly created vampire - and needs to work out on her own how to cope with her new lifestyle. She is creative and clever and does well, finding Tommy to help her do the things she can't. He is also trying to work out the limits and possibilities for a vampire using books. Throw in the vampire who created Jody watching for his own amusement, while creating some difficult scenarios for Jody and Tommy to cope with. The side characters are well written too

Taken from the book buffet at the Northampton 2019 convention. On journaling realised it should not have been on my need to read list so will put it on my to be released pile.
Picked up at the meeting today. Might take me a while to get around to reading it...
This is a bit like the Parson's Egg - good in parts. Some of the ideas and concepts are great but others are just too far fetched. Many of the ways Jody and Tommy work through the difficulties they are face are excellent, and it was good watching how to live as a vampire. But the ending involves the sinking of a yacht and that really didn't work for me.
